Opposites Attract

You and I are poles apart
But we still are close at heart

You preferred sunshine behind the clouds
While I adored the tiny stars filling up the sky

You threw a rock at the river that flowed
While I picked some flowers off the road

You patted the dog and played along
I lifted the lamb in my lap while listening to a song

You were amongst the players
While I was a mere spectator

You played mischievously
I acted mysteriously

You played music
I danced to its tune

You were ever so conscious
But I was an ignorant

You opted for strong tea
I loved sweetened coffee

You asked for a healthy meal
As I ordered a pizza with double cheese

I gulped down my drink in one go
While you took slow sips staring at me
(Some health-conscious drink you liked)

You insisted to go for a movie
I'd rather make a diary entry

You called me a geek as I loved reading
But you always loved to watch me read

I cherished being a kid
And you were my man

You preferred Marvel
I made you watch Disney

I was a disaster in the kitchen
Your cooking was heavenly

I was a contradiction
You were the perfect explanation

You understood things that I didn't even say
For that, I loved you in my own way

When I acted crazy and wild
You always stayed calm and mild

I loved adventures
You loved to take me on them

I enjoyed long drives at night
You wished waking up by my side

I watched the moon shining bright
While you craved for my sight

Maybe you and I are not so different
Though we are different, we are still the same

How differently similar
A magical paradox we were...
